Molokai has long empty beaches, quiet country roads, spectacular sunsets and sunrises (if you want to get up that early), mom and pop stores, simple Hawaiian towns, budget lodging and all the peace and quiet you could ask for.
Molokai is a small island with a population of under 8,000. You could drive the length of the entire island in half a day. To get here you can take a plane from Maui or Honolulu. Another option is the catch the ferry boat from Lahina.
On Molokai, you won't find large tour companies or activities that make you wait in line. You will find many outdoor adventures like horseback riding or mule tours down to the Kalaupapa peninsula (Father Damien's leper colony). You can experience coastline kayaking and many great beaches. You might be the only person at the beach!
If you really need to get away from it all, come to Molokai.
